Social and Health-related Changes in Hispanic Cancer Patients during the COVID-19 Lockdown.

Objective: The current study aimed to explore changes in health-related behaviors and social practices in Hispanic cancer patients during a government-mandated lockdown and their relationship to sociodemographic and clinical characteristics.

Methods: Secondary analyses were conducted on data gathered by a longitudinal cohort study to describe the unmet needs of Hispanic cancer patients living in Puerto Rico exposed to Hurricane Maria in 2017, earthquakes in 2020, and COVID-19. However, our study solely focuses on the data from the COVID-19 pandemic period.

Given the prominent role of germline defects in diseases such as infertility, detailed understanding of human PGC (hPGC) development has important implications in reproductive medicine and studying human evolution.

Traumatic right ventricular rupture: Case report and brief review of the literature.

Rupture of the right ventricular (RV) myocardium is associated with serious morbidity and mortality. Under very rare conditions, a tear in the ventricular wall can lead to the formation of a pseudoaneurysm: an external outpouching of the ventricle that is stabilized by the pericardium, thrombus formation, and/or adhesions. Here, we present a 75-year-old man with RV free wall rupture with pseudoaneurysm following a motor vehicle collision.

The regulation of CD73 in non-small cell lung cancer.

Background: Lung cancer is the leading cause of global cancer-related mortality. Although immune checkpoint therapy has achieved remarkable results in lung cancer, EGFR-mutant or ALK-positive non-smallcell lung cancer patients show limited benefit. Besides the low tumor mutational burden, PD-L1 expression and CD8+ tumor-infiltrating T cells, upregulation of CD73/adenosine pathway also contributes to the immune-inert microenvironment of EGFR-mutant NSCLC.
