Introduction: Primary hyperparathyroidism (HPT) is typically characterized by elevated parathyroid hormone (PTH) and hypercalcemia; however, some patients develop normocalcemic hyperparathyroidism. Patients with normocalcemic HPT have an elevated PTH with normal calcium levels and no other secondary causes of elevated PTH, and therefore have a unique biochemical profile. The aim of this project is to compare the demographics, presentation, and outcomes for patients with normocalcemic HPT versus patients with hypercalcemic HPT undergoing parathyroidectomy.

Introduction: Atypical lipomatous tumours (ALTs), or low-grade well-differentiated liposarcomas (WDLs), can be identified using radiological complex septations and histological atypia. In our view, this is a confusing name that underestimates the risk of local recurrence of such tumours. Defining a management algorithm for differentiating a lipoma from an ALT is important for considering the best management of these patients.

Bacteria co-evolve with bacteriophages to overcome each other's defence arsenal. Bacillus cereus group gathers bacteria of medical and agricultural importance, including foodborne pathogens. So far, few studies have portrayed a complete defence arsenal of microorganisms, and the role of antiviral systems in the Bacillus cereus group has been overlooked.

Malignant testicular germ cells tumors (TGCTs) are the most common solid cancers in young men. Current TGCT diagnostics include conventional serum protein markers, but these lack the sensitivity and specificity to serve as accurate markers across all TGCT subtypes. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are small non-coding regulatory RNAs and informative biomarkers for several diseases.
