Article Synopsis
  • Intra-operative wound irrigation is commonly used in orthopaedic surgeries to prevent surgical site infections (SSIs), but its effectiveness, particularly with chlorhexidine gluconate (CHG), is unclear.
  • A clinical trial conducted in Nigeria involved 50 patients divided into two groups: one received CHG and the other isotonic saline, with early SSIs monitored for 30 days post-surgery.
  • The study found no significant difference in SSI rates between the two groups, suggesting that both methods are equally effective, which could help improve patient care and resource management in low-resource settings.

Sixty adult male Wistar rats were randomly divided into 10 groups as I-X (n=6).

This study explored the individual and ecological relationships between antenatal care, skilled birth assistance during delivery, and family planning use across states in Nigeria.

The data were analysed by presenting differentials in prevalence of modern and traditional contraceptives between 2015 and 2018.
