Aim: This consecutive retrospective study compared Mini-implant Assisted Slow Palatal Expansion (MASPE) with rapid palatal expansion (MARPE) using a bone-borne skeletal expander in adults with a narrow maxilla. CBCT scans analyzed transverse changes and potential pterygoid process deformation before (T1) and after expansion (T2).

Materials And Methods: The Force Controlled PolyCyclic (FCPC) SLOW palatal expansion group (FCPC-MASPE-G) comprised 35 adults aged 18-54 years and received a skeletal expander limiting expansive force only allowing 500 cN at the activation wrench (force control).

Background: The aim of this study is to determine the prevalence of nocturnal enuresis (NE) in children with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), the effect of adenotonsillectomy (AT) and the width of the arches, and to compare them with control children without respiratory problems.

Methods: Children from 2 to 12 years old were divided into three groups: children with OSA and NE (n = 51), children with OSA without NE (n = 79), and the control group (n = 168). NE was defined as at least one bedwetting incident per month.

The demand for novel tissue grafting and regenerative wound care biomaterials is growing as traditional options often fall short in biocompatibility, functional integration with human tissue, associated cost(s), and sustainability. Salmon aquaculture generates significant volumes of waste, offering a sustainable opportunity for biomaterial production, particularly in osteo-conduction/-induction, and de novo clinical/surgical bone regeneration. Henceforth, this study explores re-purposing salmon waste through a standardized pre-treatment process that minimizes the biological content, followed by a treatment stage to remove proteins, lipids, and other compounds, resulting in a mineral-rich substrate.
