We present the operator semigroups approach to the first- and second-order dynamical systems taking place on metric graphs. We briefly survey the existing results and focus on the well-posedness of the problems with standard vertex conditions. Finally, we show two applications to biological models.

Materials And Methods: This paper is a literature review focusing on articles published in English between 2014-2017 searched in Medline database using terms 'young women', 'subclinical hyperthyroidism', 'subclinical hypothyroidism', 'nonthyroidal illness syndrome', 'obesity', 'depression'.
Conclusions: Clinical assessment of young female patient including that of obtaining full medical history with a focus on the perceived changes in appearance, psychological symptoms and menstrual irregularities supported by laboratory tests indicative of metabolic status and characteristic changes in thyroid functions, may be the key to well-reasoned and justified individual therapeutic decisions.
Sonoelastography is a modern ultrasound method, which enables the representation of tissues and organs with the evaluation of their elasticity, "stiffness". The principle of elastography is to use repeated, slight pressure on the examined organ with the ultrasound transducer. Changes in elasticity and deformation of tissues arising whilst the compression is processed and presented in real time with color-coded maps, is called elastograms.
