Metal-hydride hydrogen atom transfer (MHAT) has emerged as a useful tool to form quaternary carbons from alkenes via hydrofunctionalization. Methods to date that cross-couple alkenes with sp partners rely on heterobimetallic catalysis to merge the two cycles. Here, we report an iron-only cross-coupling via putative MHAT/S2 steps that solves a key stereochemical problem in the synthesis of meroterpenoid eugenial C and obviates the need for nickel.

Body mass, jump height during a countermovement jump, handgrip force, and urine samples were obtained from 13 elite badminton players (6 men and 7 women) before and after the 2nd-round and quarterfinal matches of the national Spanish badminton championship. Sweat rate was determined by using prematch-to-postmatch body-mass change and by weighing individually labeled fluid bottles.

To this end, we investigated the relationships between progressive HIV-1 infection, immune compromise, and neuroinflammatory responses in NOD/scid-IL-2Rγ(c)(null) mice reconstituted with human hematopoietic CD34(+) stem cells. Human blood-borne macrophages repopulated the meninges and perivascular spaces of chimeric animals.
