Several laboratories, including ours, have employed the Slc25a47 mouse model to investigate the role of SLC25A47, a hepatocyte-specific mitochondrial carrier, in regulating hepatic metabolism and systemic physiology. In this study, we reveal that the hepatic and systemic phenotypes observed following recombination of the Slc25a47-Wars1 locus in hepatocytes are primarily driven by the unexpected downregulation of Wars1, the cytosolic tryptophan aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase located adjacent to Slc25a47. While the downregulation of Wars1 predictably affects cytosolic translation, we also observed a significant impairment in mitochondrial protein synthesis within hepatocytes.

Background: The longitudinal study examines the effectiveness of a psychological support treatment for high-risk pregnancies using a between-groups design. It assesses the treatment's impact on depression and fear of COVID-19 at three time points, and on prenatal attachment between the 20th and 24th weeks of gestation (T0), postnatal attachment 15-20 days after birth (T1), and three months after birth (T2). Additionally, the study evaluates the treatment's effectiveness on PTSD related to childbirth and parental distress at T1 and T2.

Article Synopsis
  • * A comprehensive review of literature from 1990 to 2024 identified risk factors for OHSS, such as age and body weight, and indicated that using a GnRH antagonist reduces the risk compared to traditional protocols, although mild to moderate OHSS can still occur.
  • * Effective management of OHSS requires early diagnosis, consideration of psychological impacts, and adherence to evidence-based guidelines for patient care to ensure both safety and legal compliance.

: The study presented in this paper seeks to examine how personality traits and depressive symptoms, influenced by the fear of COVID-19, interact in infertile couples, who are on the verge of commencing treatments with assisted reproductive technology (ART). The purpose of this observational study was to explore the relationship between personality traits in infertile couples and the occurrence of depressive symptoms, taking into account the mediating effect of COVID-19 fear. : The study sample consisted of 108 women and 71 men (N = 179), all of whom had received an infertility diagnosis and expressed a desire to begin ART treatment at a Sicilian ART center; they were subsequently recruited.
