Screening for colorectal cancer by full colonoscopy in first-degree relatives of colorectal cancer patients: a multicentric study by the Italian League for the Fight against Cancer.

Background: Colorectal cancer currently presents the third-highest incidence of cancers worldwide, making secondary prevention through screening programs for colorectal cancer, usually by Fecal Occult Blood Testing, an essential preventive medicine intervention. First-degree relatives of colorectal cancer patients are a particularly at-risk group, with indications to consider direct screening by full colonoscopy. Colonoscopy is considered the gold standard for diagnosing colorectal cancer, as it has high sensitivity and specificity, and is both a diagnostic and therapeutic tool.

Effectiveness and safety of gonadotropins used in female infertility: a population-based study in the Lazio region, Italy.

Purpose: Infertility is a topic of growing interest, and female infertility is often treated with gonadotropins. Evidence regarding comparative safety and efficacy of different gonadotropin formulations is available from clinical studies, while real-world data are missing. The present study aims to investigate effectiveness and safety of treatment with different gonadotropin formulations in women undergoing medically assisted procreation treatments in Latium, a region in central Italy, through a real-world data approach.

Severe endometriosis: low value of AMH did not affect oocyte quality and pregnancy outcome in IVF patients.

Objective: The aim of this pilot study was to determine whether the low anti-müllerian hormone (AMH) serum level, due to severe endometriosis, was associated with diminished oocyte yield, poor oocyte/embryo quality and reduced in vitro fertilization/intracytoplasmic sperm injection (IVF/ICSI) clinical outcomes in young patients (<37 years old).

Patients And Methods: A total of 50 IVF cycles of patients younger than 37 with severe endometriosis were retrospectively analyzed in a single center between November 2016 and July 2018. The clinical outcome was then compared to a control group of 84 patients with no story of endometriosis and normal AMH value.
