T cell branched glycosylation as a mediator of colitis-associated colorectal cancer progression: a potential new risk biomarker in Inflammatory Bowel Disease.

Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) is a chronic inflammatory disorder of the gastrointestinal tract, established as a risk factor for Colorectal Cancer (CRC) development. Long-standing inflammation appears to play a central role in Colitis-associated Colorectal Cancer (CAC). However, the molecular mechanism underlying CAC progression is still elusive.

Motor cortex repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation in fibromyalgia: a multicentre randomised controlled trial.

Background: Despite affecting 2-4% of the population worldwide, fibromyalgia often remains refractory to treatment. Here we report the first international randomised double-blind, sham-controlled trial developed to assess the efficacy of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) as an add-on therapy for fibromyalgia.

Methods: Women aged ≥18 yr with fibromyalgia refractory to best available treatment were enrolled in Brazil, France, and Japan, and randomised to 10 Hz motor cortex (M1) rTMS, 3000 pulses day, or sham stimulation.

Evaluation of empirical and mechanistic models and sampling intervals to model the lactation curves of F1 dairy sheep.

Recently Latin American countries have developed a dairy sheep industry with an increasing number of specialized dairy-sheep flocks. The objective of this study was to evaluate the goodness of fit of empirical and mechanistic models and sampling interval to model the lactation curve of F1 dairy sheep with different shape of lactation curves in an intensively managed flock of the central highlands of Mexico. A total of 4,494 weekly (7D) test day records (TDR) from 156 lactations were analyzed.

Pelvic floor muscle training with feedback or biofeedback for urinary incontinence in women.

Background: Pelvic floor muscle training (PFMT), compared to no treatment, is effective for treating urinary incontinence (UI) in women. Feedback and biofeedback are additional resources that give women more information about their pelvic floor muscle contraction. The extra information could improve training performance by increasing capability or motivation for PFMT.

Associations between maternal adverse childhood experiences and mind-mindedness: An analysis of mother-infant interaction.

Adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) can influence parenting behaviours and have lasting effects on child development. This study investigated how maternal ACEs affect mind-mindedness during interactions between 69 Brazilian mothers and their six-month-old infants, and the role of stress in this relationship. Maternal vocalisations were coded for appropriate and non-attuned mind-related comments according to the Mind-Mindedness Coding Manual.
