An expedient approach to the synthesis of 4-azaspiro[2.3]hexane derivatives is described. The synthetic scheme consists of Tebbe olefination of -Boc-protected 2-azetidinone (including the first use of the deuterated Petasis reagent CpTi(CD) in the building block preparation) and cyclopropanation of the resulting intermediate.

In p-NiO/GaO HJ diodes, the narrow region adjacent to the HJ boundary is found to contain a high density of relatively deep centers with levels near E-0.

We previously demonstrated that RCL-localized Asn347-linked N-glycans impact NE proteolysis, but a comprehensive structure-function characterization of the RCL glycosylation is still required to better understand CBG glycobiology. Herein, we first performed RCL-centric glycoprofiling of serum-derived CBG to elucidate the Asn347-glycans and then used molecular dynamics simulations to study their impact on NE proteolysis.

The ability of the enzymes to oxidize phenylpropanoids and phenolic compounds under neutral environmental conditions with the formation of previously unknown di-, tri-, and tetrameric products of transformation was shown. The possibility to obtain industrially valuable compounds (dihydroxybenzyl alcohol and hydroxytyrosol) from caffeic acid using laccase-like oxidases of VKM F-3561 has been shown.
