Haematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) exposes patients to long-term complications like gonadal dysfunction and infertility. The European Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation advised in 2015 that fertility preservation should be considered for children and adolescents requiring HSCT. This systematic review and meta-analysis is part of the FertiTOX project, which aims to close the data gap regarding the gonadotoxicity of anticancer therapies to provide more accurate advice regarding fertility preservation.

For geminiviruses, the main methods of inoculation are agroinoculation and biolistics. Here, we describe the protocol for inoculating self-ligated cloned geminivirus inserts into plants using particle bombardment.

Furthermore, all available evidence of circHIPK3 interactions with sponged-miRNA and RBPs in oncological diseases were systematically gathered to better understand the its functional role in cancer.
Methods: PubMed, BioMedCentral, Web of Science, Embase and Scopus databases were searched for articles published until October 2024, following the PRISMA guideline.
Background: Pneumococcal pneumonia continues to be a significant global health burden, affecting both children and adults. Traditional diagnostic methods for sputum analysis remain challenging. The objective of this study was twofold: to develop a rapid and easy-to-perform assay for the identification of Streptococcus pneumoniae (Spn) directly in sputum specimens using fluorescence microscopy, and to characterize with high-resolution confocal microscopy the ultrastructure of pneumococci residing in human sputum.

Due in part to the COVID-19 pandemic becoming politically polarized, encouraging a loved one to get vaccinated could create a difficult conversation that was emotionally charged and accentuated ingroup/outgroup dynamics. Using normative rhetorical theory as a theoretical lens, this study investigates the dilemmas individuals describe when discussing how to talk with family members about getting vaccinated.
