Parkinson's disease (PD) is a prevalent neurodegenerative disorder characterized by the degeneration of dopamine neurons in the substantia nigra pars compacta, leading to motor and non-motor symptoms. While motor symptoms such as rigidity, tremor, bradykinesia/akinesia, and postural instability are well-recognized, non-motor symptoms including cognitive decline, depression, and anxiety also significantly impact patients' quality of life. Preclinical research utilizing animal models has been instrumental in understanding PD pathophysiology and exploring therapeutic interventions.

Techniques involving X-ray diffraction, SEM/EDX, Hirshfeld surface examination, IR/Raman spectroscopy, thermal behavior (TG/DTG/SDTA and DSC), and electric and dielectric studies were applied. Examination of the crystal structure reveals that the synthesized material adopts a monoclinic system, particularly belonging to the 2/ space group with unit cell parameters = 11.

The occurrence of plastic wastes is considered as a serious environmental problem. Additionally, plastic wastes can break down into smaller pieces called microplastics (MPs), leading to further interactions with the environment and living organisms.

These findings have prompted various experimental trials aimed at inhibiting PLK2 kinase activity in different transgenic mouse models of AD. While positive impacts on cognitive decline were reported in these studies, the cellular effects remained controversial.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFPerovskite materials have surged to the forefront of materials science, captivating researchers worldwide with their distinctive crystal lattice arrangement and remarkable optical, electric and dielectric attributes. The current study focuses on the development of a novel zero-dimensional (0D) Ge(II)-based hybrid perovskite, formulated as NH(CH)NHGeF, and synthesized through a gradual evaporation process conducted at room temperature. The crystal structure is characterized by an arrangement of organic cations and isolated octahedral [GeF] groups.
