Objective: To confirm the effectiveness and safety of proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9 (PCSK9) inhibitors in daily clinical practice.
Methods: Retrospective observational study of patients from hospital registry of PCSK9 inhibitor treatment with a follow-up ≥ 6 months. The lipid-lowering effect and safety were evaluated.

Background: Bariatric surgery (BS) is the most effective intervention for severe obesity, leading to sustained weight loss, reduced obesity-related comorbidities, and cardiovascular mortality.
Aim: To assess changes in high-density lipoprotein (HDL) functions [cholesterol efflux capacity (CEC) and anti-inflammatory capacity] at different follow-up times in patients with severe obesity undergoing BS.
Methods: A prospective observational study within a cohort of consecutively enrolled patients with severe obesity scheduled to undergo BS.
Background: Resistant hypertension is characterized by elevated blood pressure (BP) despite using 3 antihypertensive agents. Ambulatory BP monitoring (ABPM) detects the presence of white-coat resistant hypertension (24-hour BP <130/80 mm Hg). The aim of the study was to evaluate risks of death in resistant hypertension compared with controlled hypertension, as well as in ABPM-confirmed (24-hour BP ≥130 or 80 mm Hg), versus white-coat resistant hypertension.

However, prevalence of controlled BP is overall insufficient and lack of adherence to treatment is a suggested major contributor. This prospective, randomized clinical trial was designed to evaluate whether a specific 3-month (m) action plan to improve therapeutic adherence results in a decrease in BP.
