Unlabelled: Tsunamis occur not only in marine settings but also in lacustrine environments. Most of the lacustrine tsunamis are caused by seismically- or aseismically-triggered mass movements. Therefore, an assessment of the stability of subaqueous slopes is crucial for tsunami hazard assessment in a lake.

Unlabelled: The phase-velocity dispersion curve (DC) is an important characteristic of the propagation of surface waves in sedimentary environments. Although the procedure for DC estimation in onshore environments using ambient vibration recordings is well established, the DC estimation in offshore environments using Ocean Bottom Seismometers (OBS) array recordings of ambient vibrations presents three additional challenges: (1) the localization of sensors, (2) the orientation of the OBS horizontal components, and (3) the clock error. Here, we address these challenges in an inherent preprocessing workflow to ultimately extract the Love and Scholte wave DC from small aperture OBS array measurements performed between 2018 and 2020 in Lake Lucerne (Switzerland).

Glaucoma disease therapy frequently involves the application of a glaucoma implant. This approach is effective in terms of reducing the intraocular pressure via the filtering of intraocular fluid from the anterior chamber into the drainage pathways. The basic properties of such implants comprise of long-term stability and the filtering of fluids without the occurrence of undesirable blockages.

Composition as well as toxicity and antigenicity of toxin-including filtrates of 6 circulating strains of Corynebacterium diphtheriae, isolated in 1992-1994 in the city of Kharkiv have been studied as compared with production strain PW-8. It is shown that toxicity of filtrates of circulating strains was analogous of toxicity of the strain PW-8 (100 dlm) or lower (45 dlm). Antigenicity of four strains which was expressed in if units proved to be higher than that of the production strains and it was considerably higher in two strains isolated from adults who died from diphtheria.
