Background: Child maltreatment is an action that endangers a child's health or survival and is often committed by individuals in positions of responsibility, trust, or power. The extent of maltreatment among secondary school students in developing countries, including Nigeria, requires further exploration, and evaluating this burden can inform preventive interventions.

Objective: The study aimed to evaluate the prevalence, pattern and factors associated with maltreatment at home among secondary school students in Ibadan North LGA, Oyo State, Nigeria.

To evaluate the risk to public health from Flaviviruses in the southwest region of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, we screened as sentinels, 50 commensal hamadryas baboons located at a peri-domestic site on the outskirts of Ta'if City in February 2013. Of the baboons, 12% [95% CI 5, 24], 0% [95% CI 0, 7] and 10% [95% CI 3, 22] were seropositive in a pan-Flavivirus ELISA (anti-pan-WNV 1-2, Usutu, Zika), Dengue virus 1-4 ELISA (anti-DENV 1-4) and WNV-1 PRNT, respectively, indicating Flavirus exposures of the subjects with possible risk to public health in the area.

Background And Aim: As the rage of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic continues to spread globally, much effort is being directed to contain it through various efforts - genomic studies, drug discoveries, clinical trials, vaccine development, and the innovation of diagnostic techniques. However, some pertinent areas involving accurate and sensitive diagnostics, immunoglobulin specificity, evolution of mutant strains of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), and the drug combination strategy to combat it still require more attention.

Methods: This review critically examines the COVID-19 response and containment operations.
