Molecular motors have found a wide range of applications, powering a transition from molecules to dynamic molecular systems for which their motion must be precisely tuned. To achieve this adjustment, strategies involving laborious changes in their design are often used. Herein, we show that control over a single methyl group allows a drastic change in rotational properties.

Indenyl-(Ind) and fluorenyl-(Fl) substituted NHC-stabilized alanes and gallanes (NHC)·EHR 1-12 (NHC = IiPr, IiPr, IMe; E = Al, Ga; R = Ind, Fl) were prepared reaction of the corresponding NHC-iodoalanes and -gallanes with LiInd and LiFl, respectively. Analogously, the alane adducts with two Ind/Fl substituents (NHC)·AlHR13-18 (NHC = IiPr, IiPr, IMe; R = Ind, Fl) were obtained by using two equivalents of LiInd/LiFl. Elimination of indene and fluorene was induced thermally affording unusual dimeric and trimeric NHC-alane adducts {(NHC)·AlH}-μ-Fl 19-20 and {(NHC)·AlH-μ-R}21-23 (R = Ind, Fl; = 2, 3) with bridging indenyl and fluorenyl ligands.

Article Synopsis
  • Duplex renal collecting system (DK) in children is linked to issues like uropathy and can lead to various management strategies, including surgeries or watchful waiting.
  • A retrospective study examined outcomes of uretero-ureteral anastomosis (UUA) in 33 children over 20 years, focusing on complications, urinary tract infections, and follow-ups.
  • The study found a 12.1% complication rate with different surgical approaches (inguinal, laparoscopic, and combined) and noted that most cases involved the left kidney, with prenatal diagnoses being common.

Background: Evaluation of outcome after stroke is largely based on assessment of gross function 3 months after stroke onset using scales such as mRS. Cognitive or social functions, level of symptom burden or emotional health are not usually assessed, nor are data available on long-term functional outcomes years after stroke.

Methods: Analysis of 1141 patients with AIS treated with IVT from two major German university hospitals between 2017 and 2020.

Objective: Administration of targeted therapies provides a promising treatment strategy for urachal adenocarcinoma (UrC) or primary bladder adenocarcinoma (PBAC); however, the selection of appropriate drugs remains difficult. Here, we aimed to establish a routine compatible methodological pipeline for the identification of the most important therapeutic targets and potentially effective drugs for UrC and PBAC.

Methods: Next-generation sequencing, using a 161 cancer driver gene panel, was performed on 41 UrC and 13 PBAC samples.
