Irreversible electroporation as an intraoperative adjunctive treatment for locally advanced pancreatic cancer after neoadjuvant therapy: An initial clinical experience.

Backgrounds/aims: Irreversible electroporation (IRE) may have a potential application as either a "back-up therapy" or for margin accentuation during trial dissection of locally advanced pancreatic cancer (LAPC). The aim of this report was to describe our experience with IRE in terms of its potential applications mentioned above.

Methods: A clinical policy to use IRE in LAPC patients undergoing exploratory surgery after neoadjuvant therapy (NAT) was initiated in 2017.

Background: Care home residents are at higher risk compared with community dwelling elders for medical emergencies, often resulting in ambulance attendance and conveyance to hospital. We aimed to determine the factors predicting care home resident conveyance to hospital or referral to community pathways by an ambulance service.

Methods: We used a retrospective cross-sectional study design analysing routine data from electronic clinical records from East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust (EMAS).

Management of Colorectal Cancer with Synchronous Liver Metastases: A systematic review of national and International Clinical Guidelines (CoSMIC-G).

Introduction: The contemporary management of patients with colorectal cancer and synchronous liver metastases is complex. This study appraises the recommendations made by national/international guidelines for the diagnosis and management of patients with synchronous liver metastases from colorectal cancer.

Methods: A systematic review of national and international guidelines published between 2011 and 2024 was carried out using PubMed, OvidSP and Guidelines International Network databases.

Background: Previous meta-analyses have yielded conflicting results on the optimal surgical treatment strategy in patients with synchronous colorectal liver metastases (sCRLM). This network meta-analysis aims to provide an overview on colorectal-, liver first and simultaneous resections to treat sCRLM.
