Use of ultrasonography in the evaluation of urinary retention in critically ill patients.

Objective: to measure urinary volume through bladder ultrasound, performed by a nurse in critically ill patients, after removal of the indwelling urinary catheter and to verify the related factors on urinary retention.

Method: quantitative, observational and cross-sectional study, carried out with 37 critically ill patients of both sexes, over 18 years of age, with removal of indwelling urinary catheter in the last 48 hours. A questionnaire containing sociodemographic and clinical variables and an ultrasound examination were used.

Undergraduate nursing students' knowledge and experience in infusion therapy and peripheral vascular acces.

Objectives: to analyze the knowledge and experience of undergraduate nursing students regarding infusion therapy and peripheral vascular access.

Methods: descriptive, cross-sectional, analytical study with 123 undergraduate nursing students who answered a semi-structured instrument.

Results: the majority were women, with a median age of 51 years old; 87% considered the teaching received insufficient to perform in clinical practice.

Molecular profiling of male breast cancer by multigene panel testing: Implications for precision oncology.

Introduction: Compared with breast cancer (BC) in women, BC in men is a rare disease with genetic and molecular peculiarities. Therapeutic approaches for male BC (MBC) are currently extrapolated from the clinical management of female BC, although the disease does not exactly overlap in males and females. Data on specific molecular biomarkers in MBC are lacking, cutting out male patients from more appropriate therapeutic strategies.

Mutations and Pediatric High-Grade Gliomas: A Comparative Genomic Study in Primary and Recurrent Tumors.

Pediatric high-grade gliomas represent a heterogeneous group of tumors with a wide variety of molecular features. We performed whole exome sequencing and methylation profiling on matched primary and recurrent tumors from four pediatric patients with hemispheric high-grade gliomas. Genetic analysis showed the presence of some variants shared between primary and recurrent tumors, along with other variants exclusive of primary or recurrent tumors.

Evaluation of fatigue and quality of life of colorectal cancer patients in chemotherapy.

Objective: To evaluate fatigue and health-related quality of life of colorectal cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy.

Method: Descriptive study conducted with 69 patients between January and September/2019 in a public hospital in Minas Gerais. Instruments used: sociodemographic and clinical questionnaire, Quality of Life Questionnaire-Core30 and Piper Fatigue Scale, analyzed according to measures of frequency, mean and standard deviation by the software PSPP.
