[Prostate cancer: Gleason scores correlation between biopsies and surgical gross specimen].

Unlabelled: The Gleason score is a histopronostic criterion which gives an appraisal of prostate cancer aggressiveness and outcomes.

Objective: The goal of this retrospective study was to assess the relationship between Gleason scores appreciated on biopsies and later on surgical gross specimen.

Results: During the period of the study, 123 patients benefit of a histological diagnosis of prostate cancer recording Gleason score on biopsies and postsurgical intervention on gross specimen.

[Precancerous lesions of the uterine cervix in Pointe-Noire, Congo].

The purpose of this study was to determine the cytological profile and risk factors for intraepithelial precancerous lesions of the uterine cervix in an urban community of Pointe-Noire, an industrialized seaport located in the southeast region of Congo-Brazzaville. A transverse study was carried out over a period of 18 months (January 2003 to July 2004) in the Center for the Study of Human and Animal Diseases (CSHAD) at the General Adolphe Sie Hospital in Pointe-Noire. A total of 1347 files of women benefiting from cervico-vaginal smears were included in the study.

[Primary mandibular tuberculosis].

Case Report: A 42 year-old patient presented a chronic submandibular tumefaction. Antibiotics were not effective. Diffuse osteolysis was noted on the panoramic.

[Gamna Gandy bodies: Features mimicking a mycotic disease. Two cases in the spleen].

We report the clinical and histopathological features of 2 cases of Gamna-Gandy bodies located in the spleen. The diagnosis was made by the presence of circumscribed nodules containing dark brown rod-shaped and "bamboo-shaped" fibrotic structures. These structures were positive with Perls and von Kossa staining.

[Pathological fracture revealing an osseous histoplasmosis. A case report on a 60-year patient].

The authors report a new case of African Histoplasmosis in a 60-year-old patient. It was an humeral localization revealing a pathological fracture which grew into an extension of osteolysis and a cutaneous fistulization likely to be a malignant bone tumor. The case has been diagnosed by surgical biopsy and histological analysis.
