Discrepancies Between Objective and Subjective Outcomes of and Quality of Life During Molding Helmet Therapy for Cranial Deformities.

Positional skull deformities have been on the rise for decades and can be treated with molding helmets in early childhood. Parents often fear later cosmetic stigmatization, but also a reduced quality of life (QoL) during treatment. The aim of this study was to examine therapy results in our patient collection from a new perspective.

Early detection of aseptic bone necrosis post-cranioplasty: A retrospective CT analysis using Hounsfield units.

This study examined the efficacy of computed tomography (CT)-based Hounsfield units (HU) as early predictors of aseptic bone necrosis, a serious post-cranioplasty complication after autologous cranioplasty. In total, 100 patients who underwent decompressive craniectomy and subsequent autologous cranioplasty were included. The radiodensity of the bone flap was evaluated in HU from CT scans at five follow-up timepoints.

Endovascular foreign body removal of a MynxGrip polyethylene glycol (PEG) sealant embolus using a cerebral stent retriever.

Background: This is a rare case of removing an intra-arterial foreign body represented by MynxGrip polyethylene glycol (PEG) sealant as a rare complication of using the MynxGrip™ Vascular Closure Device (AccessClosure, Inc., Mountain View, CA) using a pRESET stent retriever (Phenox, Bochum, Germany) which is utilized mainly for treatment of endovascular stroke.

Case Presentation: A 60-year-old female patient suffering from intermittent claudication in the right lower limb (stage IIb according to Fontaine) due to a peripheral arterial occlusive disease was presented for an elective revascularization using balloon angioplasty of a short chronic occlusion of the right superficial femoral artery.
