Background: Proanthocyanidins (PACs) from black soybean seed coat have antioxidant and anti-tumorigenic properties. We investigated the anti-tumor properties and mechanisms of action of PACs on colorectal cancer (CRC).
Methods: We fed the APC mice, which are highly susceptible to spontaneous intestinal adenoma formation, diets supplemented with or without PACs for 7 weeks and assessed adverse effects, the number and size of intestinal polyps, and the expression of pro- and anti-proliferative proteins in the intestine.
Background: Cases of food allergy after hematopoietic stem cell and solid organ transplantation in previously nonallergic transplant recipients were reported as transplant-acquired food allergy (TAFA), but information about its long-term outcome is still limited. A phenomenon where patients reacquire food allergy by resuming daily consumption after a negative oral food challenge has not yet been reported.
Case Presentation: We report two cases of TAFA after liver transplantation and cord blood transplantation.
Aims: This study aimed to explore mentoring competence in nursing student mentors during clinical practice by identifying different mentor profiles and connections between different competence areas among five European countries and Japan.
Methods: The study implemented a cross-sectional design in Finland, Italy, Lithuania, Slovenia, Spain, and Japan during 2016 and 2019. In total, 6208 mentors were invited, and 1862 participated from 58 healthcare organizations.
Background: The blood metabolome profiles depend on the meal intake time zone regardless of having the same meal. The serum albumin (Alb) level, which is important in managing geriatric patients with chronic diseases, is included in the metabolome analysis. In this study, we aimed to examine the relationship between Alb and the nutritional value of hospital meals consumed at breakfast, lunch, and dinner among geriatric patients.
