The aim of the study was to investigate with FISH the frequency of aneuploidies of the first and second polar bodies (PB-I and PB-II) of oocytes in women participating in IVF programs. The study included 93 women, 82 of them were after controlled ovulation stimulation (COS), 11 in natural cycles. FISH in 238 PB-I and PB-II was done.

Trainees could benefit from practicing orthotic fabrication on simulated hands with joint deformities. As a first step toward such training, we explored the use of a nonpathological model hand. This study is the first phase of research aimed at developing new educational approaches to enhance occupational therapy students' orthosis fabrication skills. Before the effectiveness of training can be determined, a method for evaluating performance must be established. Using the Delphi method, we developed a global rating scale and checklist for evaluating technical competence when fabricating metacarpophalangeal (MCP) joint-stabilizing orthoses.

Results of comparison of nuchal translucency measurments (NT) and parameters of the biochemical analysis of blood serum of pregnant women in the first trimester and after use of assisted reproductive technologies (in vitro fertilization and cytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI)) are submitted. It was shown that NT does not differ from those of women with spontaneous pregnancy, and parameters of biochemical markers tend only to change. After ICSI use concentration of free beta-HCG authentically increases.

Results of cytogenetic investigation of the rate and the types of chromosome aberrations in lymphocytes of peripheric blood in 31 infertile women are presented. The high frequency of karyotype abnormalities (16.4%) has been shown in the studied group.
