It is well known that individual pea ( L.) cultivars differ in their symbiotic responsivity. This trait is typically manifested with an increase in seed weights, due to inoculation with rhizobial bacteria and arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi.

Background: The transcription factor AP1 plays a crucial role in the proliferation, apoptosis, and terminal differentiation of epidermal keratinocytes.

Objective: This study aimed to clarify whether the subunit of AP1, FOSL1 protein, can be used to assess the exacerbation of psoriasis by evaluating its changes in protein and mRNA levels in cultured epidermal keratinocytes and skin specimens of the patients prescribed with bathwater PUVA (Psoralen and UVA) therapy. This study aimed to investigate FOSL1, a subunit of the transcription factor AP-1, as a potential biomarker for psoriasis by examining its protein and mRNA expression in skin specimens from patients undergoing bathwater PUVA (Psoralen and UVA) therapy and cultured epidermal keratinocytes.

Mathematical modeling plays an important role in our understanding and targeting therapy resistance mechanisms in cancer. The polymorphic Gompertzian model, analyzed theoretically and numerically by Viossat and Noble to demonstrate the benefits of adaptive therapy in metastatic cancer, describes a heterogeneous cancer population consisting of therapy-sensitive and therapy-resistant cells. In this study, we demonstrate that the polymorphic Gompertzian model successfully captures trends in both in vitro and in vivo data on non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) dynamics under treatment.

Direct pro-neural reprogramming is a conversion of differentiated somatic cells to neural cells without an intermediate pluripotency stage. It is usually achieved via ectopic expression (EE) of certain transcription factors (TFs) or other reprogramming factors (RFs). Determining the transcriptional changes (TCs) caused by particular RFs in a given cell line enables an informed approach to reprogramming initiation.

Background: Restructuring of dermal microcapillaries is one of the hallmarks of plaque psoriasis. To control the proliferation of vascular endothelial cells, vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) promotes the remodeling of the existing blood vessels and angiogenesis.

Objective: This study aimed to explain the lowering protein and mRNA levels of VEGF in lesional skin of patients with severe psoriasis (the Psoriasis Area and Severity Index, PASI > 25).
