Three-dimensional simulations of laminar flame propagating downwards the vertical surface of a rigid polyurethane slab heated by a radiative panel are presented and compared with the measurement data. The gas-phase model (ANSYS Fluent) allows for finite-rate volatile oxidation, soot formation and oxidation, emission, transfer, and absorption of thermal radiation. The solid-phase model Pyropolis considers heat transfer across the material layer and generation of combustible volatiles in thermal decomposition of the material.

Obliterating peripheral artery disease is a commonly occurring pathological condition, most often resulting from an atherosclerotic lesion of vessels with progressive narrowing of their lumens. The consequences of decompensation of chronic arterial insufficiency such as ischaemic pain, claudication, and trophic impairments are in some instances difficult to treat, despite using multicomponent medicamentous therapy and/or performing revascularizing interventions. This article describes a clinical case report regarding the use of spinal stimulation in a patient presenting with stage IV chronic lower limb ischaemia according to the Fontaine classification.

Field data on behaviour of artificial polydisperse radioactive silica particles in the components of the cattle food chain are presented. The model fused radioactive particles reproduced the spherical shape of particles in the local deposition during nuclear tests, including their specific gravity and polydispersity. It is shown that the composition of radioactive particles entering the body of animals differs from those initially deposited on the surface of pasture grass.

It is shown that segmented polyurethanes with D-lactose and D-maltose residues in the main polymer chain are subjected to a specific effect of enzymes: beta-galactosidase and alpha-amylase, respectively. This leads to a decrease in values of characteristic viscosity and physicomechanical indices of polyurethanes after their incubation with the mentioned enzymes. The compounds obtained are subjected to acid hydrolysis, which confirms sugar residues in the main polymer chain.
