[Establishment and development of rehabilitation medicine in Russia: the role of the Russian Academy of Sciences].

An analysis of the results of studying physical therapy methods obtained for 300 years of existence of the Russian Academy of Sciences is presented. The first hundred years brought together attempts of physical therapy methods' experiential studiyng, which led to the formation of physiotherapy in the late 19 century. The synthesis of empirical knowledge allowed to form unifying theories of restorative and rehabilitation medicine in the 20 century.

Objectives: Minimally-invasive direct coronary artery bypass (MIDCAB) is a less-invasive alternative to full sternotomy off-pump coronary artery bypass (FS-OPCAB) revascularization of the left anterior descending artery (LAD). Some studies suggested that MIDCAB is associated with a greater risk of graft occlusion and repeat revascularization than FS-OPCAB LIMA-to-LAD grafting. Data comparing MIDCAB to FS-OPCAB with regard to long-term follow-up is scarce.

The purpose of the article is to attract the attention of specialists in the resort business in the document being developed - the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation «On Approval of the Regulations on the Districts of Sanitary (Mining and Sanitary) Protection of Natural Medicinal Resources», the draft of which is proposed for discussion. The article presents all the comments on the discussed draft Regulation and proposals for making appropriate changes with their reasoned justification. The proposals put forward to change the wording of specific paragraphs of the Regulation are aimed at protecting and preserving the wealth of our country - natural healing factors that form the basis of sanatorium treatment.
