Influenza A(H1N1)pdm09 virus caused about 2000 laboratory confirmed lethal cases in Russia during 2009-2010 and 1302, 135 and 29 cases in the 2010-2011, 2012-2013 and 2013-2014 seasons respectively. The on average short duration (7.8±5 days) of lethal cases of Influenza A(H1N1)pdm09 infections in Russia suggests primary viral rather than secondary bacterial pneumonia.

We report dual energy CT (DECT) imaging, commonly used for cancer diagnosis, treatment and surveillance, as a novel biomarker of MF and BMD.
Methods: We validated DECT in pre-clinical and phase I clinical trials and verified with water-fat MRI (WF-MRI), quantitative CT (QCT) and dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA).

Aim: Assessment of genetic diversity of influenza virus A/H1N1 (sw2009) variants circulated in Russia, study of virus' pathogenicity in humans and potential resistance to antiviral drugs.
Materials And Methods: Sequencing of PCR-fragments of genome of influenza viruses isolated from clinical and autopsy samples of 436 patients. Four full genome sequences of influenza viruses A/H1N1 (sw2009) were obtained.
Aim: To study the epidemiological and clinical features of the 2009-2010 pandemic influenza in Russia.
Subjects And Methods: Materials from 874 patients, including postmortem samples from 287 subjects, were examined applying the AmpliSens Influenza virus A/H1-swine-FL PCR kit designed and produced by the Central Research Institute of Epidemiology. The clinical and postmortem characteristics of 68 patients who had died from influenza A/H1N1 (sw2009) were analyzed in detail.
Heterologous expression in yeast of mCYP11A1 fusions with different topogenic signals of yeast mitochondrial proteins for artificial channeling to different translocases of the inner membrane was used to gain insight in the mechanism of its topogenesis in mitochondria. To ensure insertion of the CYP11A1 domain into the inner mitochondrial membrane during the process of translocation, topogenic sequences containing transmembrane segments of Bcs1p(1-83), DLD(1-72), and full-sized AAC protein were used when constructing modified forms of CYP11A1, and the Su9(1-112) addressing signal was included to stimulate membrane insertion of CYP11A1 after its translocation to the matrix. Alternatively, to promote slippage of the hybrid molecules into the matrix, the hybrid of mCYP11A1 with the precursor of steroidogenic mitochondria matrix protein adrenodoxin (preAd) was designed.
