Some BDNF (brain-derived neurotrophic factor)-targeted microRNAs such as miR-30a-5p associate with alcohol dependence phenomenon however their relationship with AWS is not described. We aimed to measure serum BDNF concentration and relative content of miR-30a-5p over the course of alcohol abstinence and compare obtained results with clinics of AWS. Additionally, we studied relative serum content of miR-30a-5p, a microRNA which does not target BDNF but relates to alcohol use disorder.

Background: Allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (alloHSCT) is the only treatment option with curative potential in patients with myelofibrosis (MF). The aim of our study was to evaluate the safety of splenectomy before alloHSCT in MF patients who failed to achieve significant spleen response after ruxolitinib therapy.

Methods: Splenectomy was performed in 12 patients for alloHSCT with myelofibrosis-primary (6 patients), post-polycythemia vera (3 patients).

Objective: To study the relationship between alcohol consumption and cerebral atrophic changes.

Material And Methods: Forty-four second stage alcoholic patients at the age of 30-55 years were examined using magneto-resonance imaging of the brain combined with psychological testing of cognitive functions and the TLFB technique. Based on the TLFB technique, patients were stratified into mild and heavy alcohol consumers.

The article reports the questions, which are associated with the interpretation of disease pathogenesis. The data are based on an analytical generalization of the follow-up study of 59 patients with necrotizing fasciitis in 2003-2011. The main component is stressed: disorders of microcirculation of superficial fascia as a result of thrombosis on basis of the hypercoagulation with outcome to necrosis, which was accompanied with POI syndrome, which manifested with severe form of sepsis (Hardaway theory) and can be considered as main cause of fatal outcome.
