Article Synopsis
  • This study compares cord blood alarin levels among infants with different birth weights and those born to mothers with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM).
  • The research categorized healthy term babies into four groups based on birth weight: small for gestational age (SGA), appropriate for gestational age (AGA), and large for gestational age (LGA), as well as GDM status.
  • Results showed significant differences in alarin levels between AGA and SGA, and AGA and GDM groups, indicating that lower birth weight and GDM are associated with varying alarin levels in umbilical cord blood.

Purpose: This study investigated the age-dependent effects of methylphenidate (MPH) on brain metabolites including choline (Cho), N-acetyl aspartate (NAA) and creatine (Cr) levels in the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC), striatum, cerebellum, and anterior cingulate cortex (ACC) regions of the brain in adult patients with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

Patients And Methods: The study was included 60 patients with ADHD between the ages of 18 and 60 years. The patients were grouped with respect to their ages as follows: 18-24 years, 25-30 years, and 31 and over years.

In this study, a multi ion-selective electrode system was developed for simultaneous determination of Ca, Mg, K and NH ions. The system, called electronic tongue, was used for the quantitative determination of these ions in different water samples. The measurement system was comprised of sixteen ion-selective electrodes, an Ag/AgCl double-junction reference electrode, and a sixteen-channel multi-potentiometer.
