Transomental hernia resulting in a closed loop small bowel obstruction: delayed presentation following paediatric blunt abdominal trauma.

While internal hernias are rare in the paediatric population, it should be considered as a cause for an acute abdomen following blunt trauma. Internal hernias represent a surgical emergency that requires prompt recognition due to the high risk of strangulation and ischaemia of affected bowel loops. Improving brain health via the central executive network.

Cognitive and physical stress have significant effects on brain health, particularly through their influence on the central executive network (CEN). The CEN, which includes regions such as the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex, anterior cingulate cortex and inferior parietal lobe, is central to managing the demands of cognitively challenging motor tasks. Acute stress can temporarily reduce connectivity within the CEN, leading to impaired cognitive function and emotional states.

Problematising menstrual tracking apps: presenting a novel critical scoping review methodology for mapping and interpreting research literature.

Objectives: To showcase a novel, theoretically informed methodology for conducting scoping reviews by operationalising critical theory. And to advance the field of women's digital health by applying this critical scoping review methodology (CSR) to research on menstrual tracking apps (MTAs).

Methods And Measures: 116 articles published in English, between November 2015 and November 2023, focusing on MTAs, and/or user's experiences of MTAs, were thematically analysed through the Foucauldian concept of problematisation and analytics from critical psychology.

Reproducibility and diagnostic performance of superb microvascular Imaging's vascular index in solid breast lesions.

Aim: Superb microvascular imaging (SMI) is a new ultrasound tool that can detect small blood vessels while cancelling out artefacts. It may be useful in detecting the vascularity associated with malignant breast lesions. This study evaluated the reproducibility and diagnostic performance of SMI's Vascular Index (VI) in differentiating benign from malignant solid breast lesions.
