Liver cancer is a complex disease that involves various oncoproteins and the inactivation of tumor suppressor proteins (TSPs). Gankyrin is one such oncoprotein, first identified in human hepatocellular carcinoma, that is known to inactivate multiple TSPs, leading to proliferation and metastasis of tumor cells. Despite this, there has been limited development of small molecule gankyrin binders for the treatment of liver cancer.

Hip fractures in patients with primary aldosteronism - a Swedish nationwide study.

Unlabelled: In this large population-based matched cohort study, patients with primary aldosteronism were at increased risk of hip fracture, particularly subgroups traditionally considered at higher risk of osteoporosis such as women, patients older than 56 years at diagnosis, patients with established cardiovascular disease at diagnosis, and patients treated with MRA.

Purpose: Previous studies suggest that primary aldosteronism (PA) is associated with dysregulated bone homeostasis. The aim of this study was to evaluate the incidence of hip fractures in patients with PA.

Objective: The European Thyroid Imaging Reporting and Data System (EU-TIRADS) allows for selective fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC). In 2017, EU-TIRADS was implemented as part of a nationwide standardized care bundle for thyroid cancer in Western Sweden with a population of approximately 1.7 million.

The effect of sedimentation on spore settlement and recruitment of the endemic Arctic kelp, Laminaria solidungula (Phaeophyceae).

Environmental changes associated with rapid climate change in the Arctic, such as the increased rates of sedimentation from climatic or anthropogenic sources, can enhance the impact of abiotic stressors on coastal ecosystems. High sedimentation rates can be detrimental to nearshore kelp abundance and distribution, possibly due to increased mortality at the spore settlement stage. Spore settlement and viability of the Arctic kelp Laminaria solidungula were examined through a series of lab-based sedimentation experiments.
