Dynamic definition liposculpture (HD2) is considered a highly sought after procedure in body sculpting surgery by patients. Radiofrequency microneedling is a cutting edge technology with evidence-based outcomes demonstrating skin tightening and retraction. These ancillary procedures complement and enhance the results of dynamic definition liposculpture.

With the publication of CALGB 140503, an increase in wedge resections for small, peripheral non-small cell lung cancer is expected; however, a relative paucity of data exists as to what defines a high quality oncologic wedge resection. The Thoracic Surgery Outcomes Research Network (ThORN), through expert discussion, guided by review of what limited data does exist, and through use of a modified Delphi process, provides these consensus statements defining an oncologically sound, high quality wedge resection. The statements are classified into five categories: 1) Preoperative Considerations 2) Technical Aspects 3) Lymph Node Assessment 4) Margin Assessment and 5) Tissue Handling by Pathology.

Aim: A study reported that therapeutic hypothermia (TH) did not reduce the combined prognosis of mortality and disability at 18 months, in low- and middle-income countries for patients with hypoxic ischaemic encephalopathy (HIE) who received TH, suggesting its no implementation in these regions. We described characteristics, mortality, and neurological response before and after the use of TH in newborns with HIE within the EpicLatino Neonatal Network (ENN) and described the population of infants with HIE treated and not treated with TH.

Methods: Data were collected from 2015 to 2022 for patients with HIE.

Background: Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) increases oxygen concentration in affected tissues that enhance the cellular hypoxia recovery process, neovascularization, fibroblast proliferation, increased reactive oxygen species, suppression of proinflammatory states, and vascular compression. The aim of this article is to demonstrate the experience in the use of the hyperbaric chamber as an adjunctive management for the prompt recovery of patients who underwent aesthetic plastic surgery.

Methods: A retrospective descriptive study was conducted between 2021 and 2023, involving 296 patients who received HBOT after aesthetic surgical procedures, to demonstrate the recuperation time rate and the complication incidence in postoperative patients using HBOT.

Article Synopsis
  • A new lung cancer survivorship clinic workflow was created to specifically address the needs of early-stage lung cancer survivors (LCS) using electronic patient-reported outcomes (ePROs) to collect data on their experiences and care.
  • From January 2020 to March 2023, 315 early-stage LCS completed orientation visits, showing high satisfaction rates, although ePRO completion varied significantly by gender and demographics.
  • The study found LCS reported lower symptom burdens compared to the general population, but a significant number had moderate to severe symptoms, indicating a need for better outreach and supportive care referrals, particularly for female patients.
