O-glycosylation of secreted and membrane-bound proteins is an important post-translational modification that affects recognition of cell surface receptors, protein folding, and stability. However, despite the importance of O-linked glycans, their biological functions have not yet been fully elucidated and the synthetic pathway of O-glycosylation has not been investigated in detail, especially in the silkworm. In this study, we aimed to investigate O-glycosylation in silkworms by analyzing the overall structural profiles of mucin-type O-glycans using LC-MS.

[Thoracoscopic Right Lower Lobectomy Safely Performed after the Identification of Anomalous Middle Pulmonary Vein by Preoperative Three-dimensional Computed Tomography Angiography: Report of a Case].

A complete thoracoscopic right lower lobectomy was successfully performed for a 74-year-old woman with an anomalous right middle lobe pulmonary vein, forming a common trunk of V4+5 and V6 . Preoperative three-dimensional computed tomography was useful to identify the vascular anomaly and contributed to perform safe surgery under the thoracoscopy.

[Superior Mesenteric Artery Embolism following Left Upper Lobectomy for Lung Cancer].

We report a case of superior mesenteric artery( SMA) embolism on the seventh day after lung resection. The patient is a 76-year-old woman. She underwent complete thoracoscopic left upper lobectomy and systematic lymph node dissection for adenocarcinoma of the lung.

Remimazolam decreased the incidence of early postoperative nausea and vomiting compared to desflurane after laparoscopic gynecological surgery.

Purpose: Postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) is a common adverse event after surgery. Remimazolam is a novel sedative agent recently approved for general anesthesia in Japan. This study evaluated the efficacy of remimazolam in the incidence of PONV after laparoscopic gynecological surgery under general anesthesia.
