Purpose: This study aimed to evaluate the occurrence of pseudophakic cystoid macular edema (PCME) post low-energy femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery (FLACS) in a high-volume surgical setting.

Methods: The medical records of 242 FLACS patients were retrospectively reviewed. The central subfield macular thickness (CSMT) was measured via optical coherence tomography (OCT) before and 4-6 weeks after surgery, and the results were compared for PCME detection.

Article Synopsis
  • This study compared macular vascular changes after treatment with panretinal photocoagulation (PRP) and intravitreal bevacizumab (IVB) in 62 eyes with severe diabetic retinopathy.
  • Results showed that IVB caused temporary expansion of the foveal avascular zone (FAZ) at one month, while PRP maintained steadiness in FAZ characteristics; however, both treatments stabilized vascular measures after three months.
  • There were significant differences in the short-term effects on FAZ area and deep capillary plexus (DCP) density between treatments at one month, but not at three months.

Background: AURIGA is the largest prospective real-world study to evaluate intravitreal aflibercept (IVT-AFL) treatment of diabetic macular edema (DME) and macular edema secondary to retinal vein occlusion. This article presents 24-month data from the German cohort of treatment-naïve patients with DME.

Methods: Treatment-naïve patients (≥ 18 years) with DME were treated with IVT-AFL at the discretion of the physician in clinical practice.

Purpose: To investigate if the cytokine profile in the aqueous humor (AH) of cataract patients varies according to cataract type and severity.

Methods: This prospective study included 397 eyes of 397 patients (median age, 76 years; range, 30-94 years) who underwent standard small-incision phacoemulsification surgery. Cataracts were graded using the LOCS III system: mild (≤3), moderate (3.

Introduction And Importance: Reduction en masse is a rare complication of incarcerated inguinal hernias, occurring when the herniated sac, along with the trapped hernia, returns to the preperitoneal space.

Case Presentation: In this study, we describe a 74-year-old male patient who presented to the hospital with a history of manual hernia reduction and complaints of nausea, vomiting, and constipation for two weeks. After undergoing paraclinical tests, he underwent open surgery with a diagnosis of hernia reduction en masse, during which the hernia sac was separated from the surrounding structures.
