Objective: Intestinal transplantation (ITx) has become an accepted option for children with serious complications from intestinal failure and parenteral nutrition (PN) dependence. We aimed to assess long-term growth and nutritional outcomes in these patients. We also assessed factors influencing nutritional status and ability to wean off tube feedings (TFs) after ITx.

Introduction: : Metformin, an oral hypoglycemic agent, is generally used as the first-line treatment in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) patients. The response to metformin varies between patients, and its mechanisms remain incompletely understood. Genetic variations in proteins involved in the pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics of metformin, like OCT1 transporter, are suspected to explain this difference.

The conventional real-time screening in organs-on-chips is limited to optical tracking of pre-tagged cells and biological agents. This work introduces an efficient biofabrication protocol to integrate tunable hydrogel electrodes into 3D bioprinted-on-chips. We established our method of fabricating cell-laden hydrogel-based microfluidic chips through digital light processing-based 3D bioprinting.
