As the Mediterranean diet (MDi) has demonstrated a powerful preventative effect on various medical conditions, a positive effect on oral health may also be speculated. Tooth loss, pain or tooth mobility may discourage the consumption of specific food types, affecting MDi adherence. Purpose: To evaluate the changes in abutment screw removal torque value (RTV) of anatomic, original hybrid, and non-original hybrid abutments after simulated clinical use.

Materials And Methods: Ninety-three implant-abutment-crown specimens were divided into groups according to abutment types (n = 31): anatomic (stock) (A), original hybrid (OH), and non-original hybrid (NOH). After the initial abutment screw tightening, the specimens were subjected to five screw tightening (insertion/removal) cycles, or to 5000 thermal cycles with 500,000 chewing cycles combined with one or five screw tightening cycles.

Objective: To analyze and compare the impact of acidic media on the surface characteristics of highly filled flowable resin-based composites.

Materials And Methods: Two hundred fifty-six specimens were divided into four groups: GUF (G-aenial Universal Flo), GUI (G-aenial Universal Injectable), TEF (Tetric EvoFlow), and FSF (Filtek Supreme Flowable Restorative). Surface characteristics were analyzed before (T0) and after specimens immersion in different media, such as gastric juice (GJ), fizzy drink (FD), citric juice (CJ), or artificial saliva (AS), for 9 h (T1) and 18 h (T2).

The aim of this research was to determine if there are differences in early bacterial adhesion among CAD/CAM dental materials after 24 h exposure in the oral environment. One hundred twenty specimens were prepared according to the manufacturer's recommendations and divided into six groups: RBC (resin-based composite), PMMA (polymethyl methacrylate), PEEK (polyether ether ketone), ZP (zirconia polished), ZG (zirconia glazed), and cobalt-chromium alloy (CoCr alloy). Twenty healthy participants were instructed to carry an intraoral device with six specimens, one per group, for 24 h.

Dental polymers are now available as monolithic materials which can be readily used in computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) systems. Despite possessing numerous advantages over conventionally produced polymers, the polymers produced by either of these systems fail to exhibit immunity to surface microbial adhesion when introduced into the oral environment, leading to the development of oral diseases. The aim of this study was to analyze the biofilm formation of six microorganisms from the oral cavity and its correlation to the surface characteristics of CAD/CAM dental polymers.
