Article Synopsis
  • High-voltage power line insulators are essential for safe electricity transmission, but real-world image limitations hinder the development of effective inspection algorithms, especially for dirty insulators.
  • A new synthetic image database has been created using CAD models and game engines to simulate various insulator types and environmental conditions, providing a diverse dataset for research.
  • This database includes an Image Segmentation Set with over 47,000 images by material and landscape, and an Image Classification Set with about 14,000 images showing different contaminants, aimed at improving machine learning for insulator inspection.

In France, medicalization of information systems program (PMSI) is an essential tool for the management planning and funding of health. The performance of encoding data inherent to hospital stays has become a major challenge for health institutions. Some studies have highlighted the impact of organizations set up on encoding quality and financial production.

Introduction: Implant neck fracture involving a non-modular femoral stem is rare in primary total hip arthroplasty (THA). Occasional cases have been reported following laser etching of the Corail(tm) stem, but risk factors have not been precisely determined. We therefore performed a retrospective study on a series of Corail(tm) stems with laser neck etching, in order to: (1) determine the exact implant neck fracture rate at 10 years, and (2) identify associated risk factors.

Uni-compartmental knee replacement (UKR) is an attractive surgical option for the treatment of single compartment femoro-tibial osteoarthritis. While UKR for medial compartment arthritis is a well-established procedure with an excellent track record, UKR for lateral compartment arthritis has seen more limited success and remains a challenging operation, even in the hands of experienced arthroplasty surgeons. Despite this, several studies have now reported satisfactory mid- and long-term results with lateral UKR in appropriately selected patients.
