Clinical features and predictors of osteoarticular manifestations in common variable immunodeficiency.

Introduction: This study aimed to assess osteoarticular manifestations in patients with common variable immunodeficiency (CIVD) and to identify the predictive factors.

Methods: This was a retrospective and prognostic study conducted in the pediatrics: immuno-hematology and stem cell transplantation department, including patients who fit the definition of CVID. A Cox model analysis was used to identify predictive factors.

Synovial cell sarcoma: a rare laryngeal tumor.

Synovial cell sarcoma is a soft tissue tumor that occurs predominately in the lower limbs near the joints. Lesions of the head and neck are extremely rare. The larynx is the least frequent site with only about 20 cases reported in the literature.

A wafer level vacuum encapsulated capacitive accelerometer fabricated in an unmodified commercial MEMS process.

We present the design and fabrication of a single axis low noise accelerometer in an unmodified commercial MicroElectroMechanical Systems (MEMS) process. The new microfabrication process, MEMS Integrated Design for Inertial Sensors (MIDIS), introduced by Teledyne DALSA Inc. allows wafer level vacuum encapsulation at 10 milliTorr which provides a high Quality factor and reduces noise interference on the MEMS sensor devices.

Retinal dystrophy and congenital glaucoma as major causes of vision loss in students attending two institutions for the visually disabled in Tunis city, Tunisia.

Purpose: To assess vision loss, identify affected anatomical sites, determine etiologies and potentially avoidable causes in students attending two institutions for the visually disabled in Tunis city.

Methods: A visit for a complete ophthalmological examination was performed. All students attending these schools were recruited in our study.

[Ophthalmologic manifestations of congenital rubella].

Congenital rubella is a rare and serious disease including auditory neurological, cardiac, urinary, and ocular abnormalities. The eye complaints are often congenital cataract, congenital glaucoma, microphthalmia, and oculomotor disorders. We report the case of a 6-year-old girl presenting with a unilateral congenital cataract associated with congenital rubella.
