Relationships between internet addiction, quality of life and sleep problems: a structural equation modeling analysis.

Objective: To assess the relationship between internet addiction, quality of life, and sleep problems among adolescents.

Method: This research was conducted with a representative sample of 875 adolescents. This cross-sectional study used the Internet Addiction Test, Pediatric Quality of Life Inventory™ version 4.

A cost-conscious establishment of a robotic abdominal wall reconstruction program in a publicly funded healthcare system.

Purpose: Despite reports of better short-term outcomes, the main criticism for the adoption of the robotic surgery platform for abdominal wall reconstruction (AWR) has been the associated cost, especially in countries with a publicly funded healthcare system such as Canada. We describe our experience in implementation of robotic AWR while ensuring cost-effectiveness.

Methods: This is a retrospective cohort analysis of all patients with ventral hernias ranging between 5 to 15 cm who underwent either open or robotic AWR between January 2020 to August 2022.

COVID-19 in the endoscopy unit: How likely is transmission of infection? Results from an international, multicenter study.

Background: Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) significantly affected endoscopy practice, as gastrointestinal endoscopy is considered a risky procedure for transmission of infection to patients and personnel of endoscopy units (PEU).

Aim: To assess the impact of COVID-19 on endoscopy during the first European lockdown (March-May 2020).

Methods: Patients undergoing endoscopy in nine endoscopy units across six European countries during the period of the first European lockdown for COVID-19 (March-May 2020) were included.
