Mutations associated with reduced FDX minimum inhibitory concentrations (MICs) have been identified. However, the molecular characterization of these mutations on FDX binding and the development of FDX resistance have not been studied.

Citizen science approaches to crowdsourcing food environment data: A scoping review of the literature.

Globally, the adoption and implementation of policies to improve the healthiness of food environments and prevent population weight gain have been inadequate. This is partly because of the complexity associated with monitoring dynamic food environments. Crowdsourcing is a citizen science approach that can increase the extent and nature of food environment data collection by engaging citizens as sensors or volunteered computing experts.

Hydrogen sulfide (H S) is a noxious, potentially poisonous, but necessary gas produced from sulfur metabolism in humans. In Down Syndrome (DS), the production of H S is elevated and associated with degraded mitochondrial function. Therefore, removing H S from the body as a stable oxide could be an approach to reducing the deleterious effects of H S in DS.

Observation of Monoenergetic Electrons from Two-Pulse Ionization Injection in Quasilinear Laser Wakefields.

The generation of low emittance electron beams from laser-driven wakefields is crucial for the development of compact x-ray sources. Here, we show new results for the injection and acceleration of quasimonoenergetic electron beams in low amplitude wakefields experimentally and using simulations. This is achieved by using two laser pulses decoupling the wakefield generation from the electron trapping via ionization injection.

Dysregulated cytokine signalling is a hallmark of inflammatory bowel diseases. Inflammatory responses of the colon are regulated by the suppressor of cytokine signalling (SOCS) proteins. SOCS1 is a key member of this family, and its function is critical in maintaining an appropriate inflammatory response through the JAK/STAT signalling pathway.
