Background: In many low-income countries, enhancing the health of school-aged children is often impeded by insufficient or limited knowledge regarding their health status. Further, hands-on health promotion interventions are nearly non-existent due to the lack of designated health workers. The disconnection between schools and primary care facilities further exacerbates this issue.

Studies on functional traits of aquatic communities are useful for understanding the ecosystem dynamics as well as the diversity of ecological niches. Here, we characterize zooplankton functional groups and which limnological factors are responsible to changes in traits. Water samples were collected to evaluate limnological parameters and vertical hauls with plankton net (68 μm) were performed to characterize the community in seven reservoirs (Itupararanga, Atibainha, Salto Grande, Rio Grande, Igaratá, Barra Bonita, and Broa, São Paulo state, Brazil).

Diabetes and cardiovascular disease (CVD) contribute to significant morbidity and mortality in low-resource settings. Living with diabetes can be overwhelming, isolating, and exhausting, even in settings of resource availability and health care access, while the psychosocial burden of living with diabetes and CVD can be exacerbated by an increased burden of social determinants of health in low-resource settings. Diabetes and CVD care heavily rely on self-management, and health care professionals are now recognizing the importance of peer support in supporting healthy behaviors, psychosocial well-being, and improved clinical outcomes.

Urbanization and fires perturb the quantities and composition of fine organic aerosol in the central Amazon, with ramifications for radiative forcing and public health. These disturbances include not only direct emissions of particulates and secondary organic aerosol (SOA) precursors but also changes in the pathways through which biogenic precursors form SOA. The composition of ambient organic aerosol is complex and incompletely characterized, encompassing millions of potential structures relatively few of which have been synthesized and characterized.

Study Objective: To demonstrate our hysteroscopic technique using the mini-resectoscope for the treatment of complete uterine septum with or without cervical anomalies.

Design: A step-by-step video demonstration of the technique with the use of an educational video.

Settings: We present 3 patients diagnosed as having complete uterine septum (U2b according to the ESHRE/ESGE classification) with or without cervical anomalies (C0, normal cervix; C1, septate cervix; C2, double "normal" cervix"), 2 of them with a longitudinal vaginal septum (V1).
