Association of macrovascular complications of type 2 diabetes mellitus with serum magnesium levels.

Background: Diabetes mellitus and its complications are a significant cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. Micronutrients have been evaluated as potential preventive and therapeutic measures in diabetes. The present study evaluated serum magnesium levels in diabetic patients-uncomplicated and those with macrovascular complications.
