Evaluating TB diagnosis and care in the Union of the Comoros.

Setting: The Union of the Comoros has experienced a persistent notification gap in TB cases despite several strategic changes, including molecular diagnosis and contact investigation. We therefore performed a TB patient pathway analysis (PPA) under the National Tuberculosis Programme (NTP).

Objective: To assess the alignment of healthcare-seeking behaviour and TB service availability to clarify the reasons for these missing cases.

Low prevalence of diabetes mellitus in patients with tuberculosis in Cotonou, Benin.

Setting: The three Basic Management Units (BMUs) of the National Tuberculosis Programme (NTP) in Cotonou, Benin.

Objective: To determine the prevalence of diabetes mellitus (DM) among tuberculosis (TB) patients in Cotonou.

Design: A cross-sectional study of consecutively registered TB patients treated for a minimum of 2 weeks between June and July 2014 in the three BMUs, with measurement of their fasting blood glucose (FBG).
