The Hydrochidae (Coleoptera) of Morocco with a redescription of Hydrochus cf. obtusicollis Fairmaire, 1877.

A checklist of water beetles of the family Hydrochidae from Morocco is presented. The study compiles data gathered from a deep literature review and field surveys at 397 freshwater localities between 1985 and 2023. The checklist also contains information concerning type localities and detailed distributions for the eight species found.

Intraspecific variation of thermal tolerance along elevational gradients: the case of a widespread diving beetle (Coleoptera: Dytiscidae).

Species distributed across wide elevational gradients are likely to experience local thermal adaptation and exhibit high thermal plasticity, as these gradients are characterised by steep environmental changes over short geographic distances (i.e., strong selection differentials).

Single-Molecule Conductance of Neutral Closed-Shell and Open-Shell Diradical Indenofluorenes.

Organic diradicals are highly promising candidates as future components in molecular electronic and spintronic devices because of their low spin-orbit coupling. To advance toward final circuit realizations, a thorough knowledge of the behavior of diradicals within a single-molecule junction framework is imperative. In this work, we have measured for the first time the single-molecule conductance of a neutral open-shell diradical compound, a [2,1-] isomer of indenofluorene (IF).

Relationship of Mitochondrial DNA Oxidation and Content with Metabolic Syndrome and Cardiovascular Risk in Obesity Phenotypes.

Objective: Obesity, chronic inflammation, and oxidative stress can influence mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) content. Our objective was to evaluate the oxidation level and content of mtDNA and its relationship with metabolic parameters in metabolically healthy obese (MHO) compared to metabolically unhealthy obese (MUO) and normal weight (NW) controls.

Materials And Methods: We studied 94 NW, 95 MHO, and 97 MUO individuals between 18 and 80 years old.
