Background: Cholinesterase inhibitors (ChEIs) are cornerstones in the symptomatic treatment of Alzheimer's disease (AD) and dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB) and are also prescribed for vascular dementia (VD). Despite their widespread use, patterns of prescribing ChEIs are not fully understood.

Objective: Examine the prevalence, timing, and types of ChEI prescriptions before and after dementia diagnosis including prescribing patterns by patient sex and race.

Innate lymphoid cells in HIV pathogenesis and in the human female genital tract.

Purpose Of Review: Women are underrepresented in HIV infection and prevention research despite making up half of people living with HIV. The female genital tract (FGT) serves as a primary site of HIV acquisition, but gaps in knowledge remain regarding protective innate immune mechanisms. Innate lymphoid cells are tissue-resident cells involved in mucosal barrier maintenance and protection, and innate lymphoid cells (ILCs) are altered during chronic HIV infection.

Translation, adaptation, and validation of the Care Coordination Instrument for cancer patients.

Background: Cancer requires interdisciplinary intersectoral care. The Care Coordination Instrument (CCI) captures patients' perspectives on cancer care coordination. We aimed to translate, adapt, and validate the CCI for Germany (CCI German version).

Adaptive laboratory evolution and genetic engineering improved terephthalate utilization in Pseudomonas putida KT2440.

Poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) is one of the most ubiquitous plastics and can be depolymerized through biological and chemo-catalytic routes to its constituent monomers, terephthalic acid (TPA) and ethylene glycol (EG). TPA and EG can be re-synthesized into PET for closed-loop recycling or microbially converted into higher-value products for open-loop recycling. Here, we expand on our previous efforts engineering and applying Pseudomonas putida KT2440 for PET conversion by employing adaptive laboratory evolution (ALE) to improve TPA catabolism.
