Social network for guardians of transgender children and adolescents.

Objective: To analyze the social network of mothers, fathers or guardians of transgender children or adolescents.

Methods: This was a qualitative study, based on the theoretical framework of social network, with a focus on the primary network. The study was conducted in Brazil through online interviews between August and October 2021.

Evaluation of Criminal Responsibility in a Patient with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome and Intellectual Disability.

The current study presents the case of a young man with intellectual disability related to fetal alcohol syndrome, referred for forensic psychiatric examination of criminal liability following charges of armed robbery, and who was considered not criminally liable. In such cases, it is crucial to perform early diagnosis and rely on educational and developmental services and a supportive home environment to decrease complications such as substance use and criminal involvement.

TeleCleft: Development and Evaluation of a Mobile Application for Monitoring Cleft Patients.

Objective: Development and evaluation of a mobile application for remote monitoring and guidance of pediatric patients diagnosed with cleft lip and/or palate (CL ± P) and their caregivers.

Design: This is a pilot cross-sectional, applied, and quantitative study.

Setting: The study was conducted in two tertiary care treatment centers in Brazil.

Epigenetic mechanisms and oral mucositis in children with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia.

This study aimed to investigate the relationship between epigenetic mechanisms and oral mucositis (OM) in paediatric patients with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. Oral cells were collected from 76 participants, including 15 healthy individuals, 10 patients with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia but without a history of OM and 51 acute lymphoblastic leukaemia patients with a history of OM (35 with active OM and 16 who had recovered from OM). Global DNA methylation in the miR-9-1 and miR-9-3 genes was performed.

Analysis of factors associated with admission to the intensive care unit of children and adolescents with COVID-19: application of a multilevel model.

Objective: To identify factors associated with hospitalization in the intensive care unit in children and adolescents with COVID-19.

Methods: This was a retrospective cohort study using secondary data of hospitalized children and adolescents (zero to 18 years old) with COVID-19 reported in Paraíba from April 2020 to July 2021, totaling 486 records. Descriptive analysis, logistic regression and multilevel regression were performed, utilizing a significance level of 5%.
