The engineering of non ribosomal peptide synthetases (NRPS) for new substrate specificity is a potent strategy to incorporate non-canonical amino acids into peptide sequences, thereby creating peptide diversity and broadening applications. The non-ribosomal peptide pyoverdine is the primary siderophore produced by Pseudomonas aeruginosa and holds biomedical promise in diagnosis, bio-imaging and antibiotic vectorization. We engineered the adenylation domain of PvdD, the terminal NRPS in pyoverdine biosynthesis, to accept a functionalized amino acid.

The ISO 20387 Biobanking Standard, released in August 2018, combined the knowledge and experience of specialists from around the world and defined the general requirements that must be fulfilled by biobanks and repositories wishing to guarantee their customers the high quality of the preanalytical stage of scientific research, biological samples and associated data. In 2019, the Russian version of this standard is expected.

The matrix that results from the combination of these units with methoxyphenyl benzoate and cholesterol-containing units has a cholesteric structure. The exciton PL band of QDs in the smectic matrix is redshifted with respect to QDs in solution, whereas a blueshift is observed with the cholesteric matrix.
