Degradable polyester-based scaffolds are ideal for tissue engineering applications where long-term structural integrity and mechanical support are a requisite. However, their hydrophobic and unfunctionalized surfaces restrain their tissue-mimetic quality. Instead, hyaluronan (HA) hydrogels are able to act as cell-instructive materials with the ability to recapitulate native tissue, although HA is rapidly metabolized .

[Validation of the modified IMPROVE scale in patients undergoing primary total hip arthroplasty].

Introduction: Major orthopedic surgery such as total hip arthroplasty (THA) is associated with an increased risk of postoperative complications. Candidates for THA are often older adults, with comorbidities that increase the risk of major bleeding, the IMPROVE scale has independent actors on the risk of bleeding according to the characteristics of the patients at hospital admission. It foresees the possibility of hemorrhage and the need for blood transfusion, being support in decision-making in the planning of a safe THA with the provision of the necessary resources.

Incidence of low birth weight in Mexico: A descriptive retrospective study from 2008-2017.

According to the WHO, low birth weight (LBW) affects 15-20% of newborns worldwide. In Mexico, there are no national, state, nor municipal estimates that inform the country's situation over time. The purpose of this study was to estimate the incidence of LBW at the national, state, and municipal levels from 2008 to 2017, and to estimate the LBW incidence based on maternal sociodemographic characteristics, prenatal care and marginalization indexes at the national level using open national data.

Method: Male of 40 years old with solid lesion in epidididymis tale treated with mass exéresis

Results: Adenoamotid tumor of the epididymis confirmed with hystopathologic technique

Conclusion: Adenomatoid tumor of epididymis is the most frequent paratesticular tumors and when is suspected, conservative surgery must be performed.

[Our experience with the Nesbit technique for the treatment of Peyronie's disease].

Objectives: The Nesbit technique is the reference technique for the surgical correction of the penile incurvation of Peyronie's disease. We report our experience at the Centro Urológico San Ignacio.
