Estimation of indoor retrospective radon activity concentration can be performed by measuring the Po surface activity concentration of the radon progeny on mirrors. The conversion factor between the surface activity concentration of Po on mirrors and the retrospective activity concentration of Rn in the air was determined. Several places and some variables have been considered.

Effects of fast-acting antidepressant drugs on a postpartum depression mice model.

Postpartum depression (PPD) is a severe psychiatric disorder with devastating consequences on child development and mother's health. Dysregulation of glutamatergic and GABAergic signalling has been described in the corticolimbic system of PPD patients, who also show a downregulation of allopregnanolone levels in serum. Consequently, a synthetic allopregnanolone-based treatment is the current eligible drug to treat PPD patients.

Prevalence of hepatitis C virus infection in patients with chronic mental disorders: The relevance of dual disorders.

Objective: The prevalence of hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection is higher in people with psychiatric disorders compared to the general population. In addition, patients with severe mental illness are frequently affected by substance abuse, which increases the risk of blood-borne viral infections. Epidemiological studies in samples of hospitalised individuals with chronic mental disorders and dual diagnosis (DD) are lacking.
