Background: The Ets-1 transcription factor plays a primordial role in regulating the expression of numerous genes implicated in cancer progression. In a previous study, we revealed that poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase-1 (PARP-1) inhibition by PJ-34 results in Ets-1 level increase in cells, which is related with cell death of Ets-1-expressing cancer cells.

Aims: The mechanism of the antitumor effect of PARP-1 inhibition was investigated in the Ets-1-expressing MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cells.

Remorins are multifunctional proteins, regulating immunity, development and symbiosis in plants. When associating to the membrane, remorins sequester specific lipids into functional membrane nanodomains. The multigenic protein family contains six groups, classified upon their protein-domain composition.

The capability of materials to interconvert between different phases provides more possibilities for controlling materials' properties without additional chemical modification. The study of state-changing microporous materials just emerged and mainly involves the liquefication or amorphization of solid adsorbents into liquid or glass phases by adding non-porous components or sacrificing their porosity. The material featuring reversible phases with maintained porosity is, however, still challenging.

Unlabelled: Oral microbial dysbiosis has been associated with periodontitis in studies using 16S rRNA gene sequencing analysis. However, this technology is not sufficient to consistently separate the bacterial species to species level, and reproducible oral microbiome signatures are scarce. Obtaining these signatures would significantly enhance our understanding of the underlying pathophysiological processes of this condition and foster the development of improved therapeutic strategies, potentially personalized to individual patients.

Background: Treatment resistance is a major challenge in psychiatric disorders. Early detection of potential future resistance would improve prognosis by reducing the delay to appropriate treatment adjustment and recovery. Here, we sought to determine whether neurodevelopmental markers can predict therapeutic response.
