Levamisole, a widely used antihelminthic drug, possesses immunotropic properties. It has been proved that children with recurrent infections of the respiratory tract who were given the drug, were capable of preventing the repetition of the infections. Twenty-seven (27) children with recurrent urinary tract infections without structural malformations were studied and in all of them, a diminished cellular immunity was detected (blastic transformation of lymphocytes, rosettes of T lymphocytes and the skin tests).
